About Dr. Gelson
Grace Gelson, PsyD | Licensed Psychologist
Every child is different. Their care should be too.
I help children, teens and their families understand what's really behind struggles with attention, learning and behavior. Parents often come to me after months or years of wondering, trying things and hearing different opinions. My goal is to give you a clear understanding of your child, not just a label, and a plan you can actually use at home and at school.
Why I do this work
As a parent myself, I know how much it matters to feel heard and to leave with real answers. Raising a child with behavioral or cognitive challenges takes a great deal of work, planning and advocacy. I want to be a provider who walks this journey alongside you, advocates for you and your child, and helps you get the answers and care you both deserve.
Too often, families leave an appointment with a label but no real understanding of their child. I believe every child deserves to be seen as a whole person, with strengths, challenges and a story that matters. An evaluation shouldn't end with a report that sits in a drawer. I want you to walk away knowing exactly what to do next and how to ask for what your child needs.
You are the expert on your child. I bring the clinical tools; you bring the insight no test can capture. The best plans come from putting those together. I don't want you to feel like you're doing this alone. From the first call through feedback and beyond, I'm here to answer questions and help you take the next step.
My approach
I look at the whole child: sleep, stress, health, learning and environment, not just a symptom checklist.
I collaborate with your child's team: pediatricians, schools and therapists, with your permission.
No one-size-fits-all: recommendations built around your child's strengths and needs.
